Bruce Tilley

Bruce Tilley is the Operations Improvement Group leader with Chip Caldwell and Associates. The Operations Improvement Group specializes in helping hospitals and health systems improve their operational and financial performance through custom tailored improvement programs focused on business development, revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement based on high performance benchmarks. These custom tailored programs have historically helped clients improve their operating income between 5%-15% of net revenue. The group has also developed and installed "Balanced Scorecards" for hospital clients. These graphic single page reports consolidate a variety of critical indicators in the areas of finance, quality, operations, and growth/development. These reports enable administration and boards to easily monitor the organization's performance on selected indicators as compared to industry benchmarks and internal goals. Prior to entering the consulting field in 1985, Bruce served as Director of Management Engineering and Information Services for El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California. El Camino is an internationally recognized leader in using computerization to reduce the cost of operations. This facility was evaluated by the then HEW branch of the US government to demonstrate the cost effectiveness of computerization in health care. Bruce obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of South Florida and brings over twenty years of Health Care Consulting experience.
